The purpose of this page is to provide new first year mature students to NUI Galway with a broad range of practical and relevant information that will assist them in getting to grips with their new surroundings. Please note that Parking, Fees, Registration and Student Support Services all have separate teams to advise in these areas and should be contacted directly with your query.

Parking Guidelines must be adhered to at all times as clamping is in operation. Parking Instructions for temporary parking is available at http://www.nuigalway.ie/buildings/parking.html Please ensure you have downloaded and placed the Temporary Parking Permit on your car and parked in a designated Temporary Parking spot.
Please apply on-line for your student maintenance grant or for your Student Contribution Charge at
http://www.studentfinance.ie/ (SUSI)
If in receipt of Social Welfare long term, please contact your Social Welfare Office. BTEA will only be processed once you are a registered student and are attending classes at the university in September, and supply a letter from the Student Information Desk confriming your registration/attendance. These letters cannot be given until the Academic Year Begins in September.

If you require a letter of registration for the Grants Authority, Social Welfare or other; you should register as soon as possible. If you have done so before the Return to Learning Programme commences you can organise to have your letters stamped, verified etc. at this time with the
Student Information Desk.
