Moyra Tangney / Ericsson
The Masters of Applied Science at NUI Galway was an extremely worthwhile course, both personally and professionally. The fact that I was completing a Masters and undertaking my thesis helped me to get my current job in Ericsson. The course has provided me with a better structured framework for analysing situations and reviewing the strengths and weaknesses of systems, which is vital in my work.
Fiona Masterson / Boston Scientific Corporation
Through the Masters in Applied Science at NUI Galway I developed a wide range of new skills and increased my knowledge of the subject areas covered by my thesis. My critical thinking, analytical and writing skills improved greatly on completion of this course and have helped me in the independent research I have completed since graduating.
Jacqueline Dobbs / Medtronic Vascular Galway
The Masters of Applied Science at NUI Galway was a very challenging, but worthwhile experience. The topics that I chose to study were new to me and this meant that it was a steep learning curve, but the experience has given me more confidence and I’ve developed many new and useful skills. Without the qualification I gained from the Masters I would not have secured my current job.

I enjoyed the research, found the study challenging, and felt energised by the new information in my chosen subjects. The support and encouragement from staff and colleagues was reassuring and lecturers were approachable and supportive, the atmosphere was nurturing and promoted a ’can do’ attitude. I have now developed the skills I need to return to the workforce, with confidence to apply for positions in the first place. My future is looking very promising.
