PRESENTATIONS
Papers
The presentation of the papers will take place on the 2nd day of the symposium. Each presentation will be strictly limited to 20 minutes which will be followed by a 5 minute question/answer session. The presentation should be delivered using PowerPoint. In order to ensure the schedule stays on track, please send the PowerPoint file containing the presentation to

nuigalway.ie before 5:00pm on Friday 23rd March 2006. During the presentation, the practical relevance of the work to engineering must be clear. In this regard, an original piece of scientific work should be complemented by an indication of the potential for improved engineering design and the implications for manufacturing. The presentations will be assessed using the following criteria:
- Presentation - quality & communication skills (25%)
- Scientific Content & Technical Merit (35%)
- Innovative Approach (20%)
- Industrial Relevance (20%)
Posters
The presentation of the posters will take place on the afternoon of the 1st day of the symposium. Each poster presentation will be strictly limited to 3 minutes followed by a 2 minute question/answer session. During the presentation, the speakers poster will be displayed on a projector screen. The PowerPoint file submitted by 14th February 2006 will be used for this purpose. The posters will be judged by the presenting students with prizes awarded to the top three.
