Each year, the Discipline of Anatomy holds a Service of Memorial and Thanksgiving.

This service is organised by staff and students in order to remember and thank all those who have donated their bodies in order to aid us in the study of medical science.

The University community is composed of a wide range of traditions, cultures and nationalities and the service is designed to reflect this and to include everyone.

The service is led by the University Deans of Residence and the NUIG chaplains, Fr. Barry Horan and Fr. Ben Hughes, along with representatives from other congregations in Galway.
