Biography

Dr. Mark White, PhD, MSc Care Policy & Management, MBS HR Strategies, RGN, PG Dip Neonatal Nursing, Dip Health Studies, FFNMRCSI, FCIPD, FNHSI.
Dr. Mark White was appointed Senior Lecturer in the School of Nursing and Midwifery, National University of Ireland, Galway in May 2018. He completed his PhD at Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT) in 2015 which examined the role of ‘work-engagement’ in healthcare quality improvement. He was made a fellow and board member of Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery, Royal College of Surgeons in 2014 and an honorary research fellow in the Dept of Nursing, WIT in 2015. He is an NHS Improvement Fellow and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD).
Mark has held a number of senior, high profile nursing and health service positions and he has an extensive background working on large-scale, high-profile Health Service improvement projects including the 'Programme for Health Service Improvement', the 'National Epilepsy Clinical Care Programme' and the very successful Quality Improvement initiative ‘Productive Ward’. 
This is supported through a commitment to disseminate translational/implementation lessons from Health Service Improvement via publications in peer reviewed journals. Mark is on the editorial board of 2 journals and a member of a number of international scientific committees. He collaborates with colleagues in the UK, Belgium and Spain on research and quality improvement projects including the development of improvement knowledge and skills for all Health professional undergraduate training.
