This year, the School of Natural Science Workshop at the Science Experience Days focused on Microbiology.

The theme of the Workshop was "What you see is not what you get": the "Great Plate Count Anomaly".

Not all microbes observed down the microscope can be grown in the lab; why? Second-level students from across the country took the chance to help us to try to figure this out!

The Science Experience Days at NUI Galway are a great way for second-level students (especially Leaving Cert students) to experience life at university.
