Mindfulness in Everyday Life
With Brother Kai Li, a Senior Monastic from Plum Village*
Thursday, 30th August 2018 from 6pm - 8pm and
Friday 31st August from 10:30am - to 4:30pm (registration at 10am)
Lecture Hall MY243, Aras Moyola
The practice of mindfulness is about being present and awake to each moment of our daily lives. Teacher Brother Kai Li, a Senior Monastic from Plum Village, is an experienced teacher and enjoys leading retreats and days of mindfulness to large and small gatherings around the world. He shares his experience of mindful living with great humour and depth. Having visited Ireland a few years ago he is delighted to return to Galway.
*Plum Village, near Bordeaux in southwest France, is the largest international practice centre in the Plum Village tradition, and the first monastic community founded by Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh. Thich Nhat Hanh is a global spiritual leader, poet and peace activist, revered around the world for his powerful teachings and bestselling writings on mindfulness and peace. His key teaching is that, through mindfulness, we can learn to live happily in the present moment - the only way to truly develop peace, both in one’s self and in the world.
These events are free and all are welcome. You are welcome to attend either or both events, on Thursday evening and/or throughout the day on Friday. On Friday, you are invited to bring your own lunch and drink, or you can avail of restaurants on campus.
