Jun 21 2019 Posted: 08:00 IST

5.00 – 6.30, Thursday 4th July 2019

G018, Institute for Lifecourse and Society, NUI Galway

Kirsten will discuss the importance of connecting in a compassionate way with our own feelings and will introduce the audience to essential methods that can help us practice better self-care.

Kirsten DeLeo is a teacher, author and trainer in the field of contemplative care. For over twenty-five years she has accompanied terminally ill patients and their families. She co-developed "Authentic Presence," one of the first contemplative-based programmes in end-of-life care in the United States, a programme that is now offered in Ireland as well. Kirsten is the author of “Present Through The End. A Caring Companion’s Guide to Accompanying the Dying” (Shambhala Publications, August 2019). See for more details. Kirsten has led many retreats at the Dzogchen Beara Meditation Centre in West Cork and we are delighted to welcome her on her first visit to Galway.
