Professor Kapcia is a distinguished expert in modern and contemporary Cuban history and politics. He has published extensively in the field, including Cuba: Island of Dreams (2000), Cuba in Revolution: a History since the Fifties (2008). His forthcoming book examines literary culture in Cuba since 1959.
