Project: "Ireland and Scotland in Cinema: A Comparative Analysis"

The project compares cinematic constructions of Ireland and Scotland by investigating the overlaps and divergences within shared themes, such as representation of landscape, urban areas, relation to the British empire, emigration, treatment of gender and sexuality, religious identities and film making in Gaelic. The final section will compare the reception of Michael Collins and Braveheart in Ireland, Scotland and the U.K.
