Lady Gregory Autumn Event

The annual Lady Gregory Autumn Gathering will take place in Gort this weekend, the 23 to 25 September, 2011. The Autumn Gathering will be officially opened by Edward and James Persse, great-grand-nephews of Lady Gregory. The opening address by renowned film and theatre producer, Leila Doolan, centres on "Lady Gregory and the Art of Making Ends Meet". Other lectures include "Lady Gregory And The Fairies" by Angela Bourke, (Professor Emeritus, UCD School of Irish and Celtic Studies), and Brian Walker (Professor of Irish Studies, Queen's University, Belfast) on "Villain, Victim or Prophet: Sir William Gregory and the Great Irish Famine".
