Techniques

This section is intended as an online resource, which shall be updated with materials supplied by the committee and members.
Our apologies for the lack of articles at present; more will follow as soon as the teaching year is over!

For the present we have some links to some research areas where microscopy techniques are employed:

Fluid inclusion analysis: Group at NUI-Galway who use fluorescence and Raman based microscopy techniques to analyse microscopic bubbles in rock that can contain liquid, solid, or gases. There are details of a Diode Laser based Fluorescence Lifetime microscope that employs a 405 nm excitation source available here. The Nanoscale Biophotonics group homepage also contains links to spectroscopic techniques, manufacturers, and other resources.

SEM Microscopy of cardiovascular implants.

Mechanotransduction (confocal fluorescence microscopy)
