Dr Kieran Loftus has been in the role of Executive Director of Operations since May 2009.  The role of EDO is to drive the development of high-performing effective and efficient support services for the University.  This requires taking direct responsibility for certain units in the University, and working across organisational boundaries with others.  In both cases the goal is to ensure that our services are organised to meet the need of their customers, be they students, academic staff in teaching and research, support staff, or others outside the University.  

The task is not just to ensure that we aim for excellence in customer service and the customer experience.  We must aim to do this as efficiently as we can, driving down costs, and using our people in the best way possible.  In turn this means that we have to develop the skills and knowledge of our people, so that everybody can make the best possible contribution to their own development and to that of the University.
