Experimental Facilities overview
|
The laboratories are now all located in the School of Chemistry located on the
concourse.
- PAT Lab: Physical Chemistry.
- Microscopy Lab: Room 166.

Facilities:
The NBL maintains and operates a very comprehensive suite of advanced spectroscopic instrumentation to further our research goals. This includes a suite of confocal microscopes (4 systems), laser sources, and advanced data collection and analysis hardware. The facilities are used by everyone in the group from undergraduates upwards.
The facilities are available to research collaborators and for industrial consultancy subject to discussion and fee agreements where necessary.
The picture on the left and right shows the main PAT and bulk spectroscopy labs.

Raman & PAT facilities:
The
Raman page details the instrumentation available.
Currently we have two Raman spectrometers, an FT-IR with ATR, and an X-Ray Fluorescence spectrometer.

Fluorescence spectroscopy:
The NBL has five steady state and four fluorescence lifetime based systems for general spectroscopy. Full details are available on the
Fluorescence page..
