Enterprise Ireland (EI) has established a new Biotechnology
Directorate, which will complement
Enterprise
Ireland
's Biotech strategy by specifically focusing on
technology transfer and University-based initiatives.
This
Biotechnology Directorate, which evolved from BioResearch
Ireland
, works in partnership
with all third level institutes in
Ireland
, including the
National University of Ireland,
Galway
, to commercialise the
outputs of publicly-funded research for
Ireland
's food, health and
life sciences sectors.
The
Enterprise Ireland Biotechnology (EI Bio) Directorate, in
partnership with the Technology Transfer Officers of the third level
institutions, will form the crucial link in the commercialisation
chain: connecting the researchers who conduct the research, and the
entrepreneurs, industrialists and companies who apply the fruits of
that research.
In collaboration with the Director
of Industrial Liaison of NUI,
Galway
, EI Bio staff located
