Living with Cancer of the Lower Urinary Tract
(focusing on prostate and bladder cancer)

Stand Alone Modules

This module will equip nurses working in a variety of settings with the knowledge and skills needed to support patients during the screening, treatment and survivorship stages of lower urinary tract cancers. The module particularly focuses on prostate and bladder cancers, and addresses:

The aetiology and epidemiology of prostate cancer, bladder cancer and other lower urinary tract cancers
Current best practice in prostate cancer screening, diagnosis and staging, including the role of Rapid Access Prostate Screening Units
Current best practice in bladder cancer management
Treatment options for prostate cancer and nursing management
Survivorship issues including quality of life for patients and their families.
