This module will explore women’s health issues from an international perspective in relation to midwifery and nursing practice. The international focus aims to increase the breadth and depth of knowledge of midwifery or nursing and women’s health care provision in other countries. It will also seek to prepare nurses/midwives for change within a global context and the increasing multicultural contexts of service delivery. The module runs over 12 weeks.
There are four units in this module:
Unit 1: The role of the World Health Organisation in identification and management of women’s health issues
Unit 2: Poverty and conflict
Unit 3: Health promotion and education
Unit 4: Culture and religion
