This module will equip nurses working in a variety of settings with the knowledge and skills needed to support patients during the screening, treatment and survivorship stages of lower urinary tract cancers. The module particularly focuses on prostate and bladder cancers, and runs over 10 weeks.
There are five units in this module:
Unit 1: Epidemiology, screening and diagnosis of prostate cancer.
Unit 2: Rapid Access Prostate Diagnostic Units.
Unit 3: Treatment options for prostate cancer:
Unit 4: Epidemiology, diagnosis, staging, grading and treatment options for urothelial cancers, with particular focus on bladder cancer.
Unit 5: Follow-up and quality of life issues for patients and their families.
