Facilities
The School of Nursing and Midwifery provides high-quality research infrastructure and an intellectually supportive environment in which researchers can work. In 2005, the School moved into new buildings with modern, purpose built offices. Much of our new accommodation has been purposely designed with the needs of researchers and postgraduate students in mind. Our new offices place us at the heart of the University campus beside colleagues working in the Social Sciences, Social Gerontology and other Health Science disciplines providing ample opportunity for researchers to network, form new relationships and explore opportunities to work collaboratively.
Research Education & Support Workshops
The School of Nursing and Midwifery holds regular ‘Research Education and Support Workshops’ for staff and PhD/Masters students.
The aim of these workshops is to provide an opportunity for researchers (staff and students undertaking PhD, research Masters and all other staff) to informally share, discuss and disseminate information that actively contributes to scholarly research. This will, we hope, be achieved by:
-
Bringing research students together with experienced researchers and with their peers.
-
Facilitating research students to present their work in a safe environment with the benefit of feedback.
-
Providing research master classes on topics of relevance to scholarly research activity thus fostering sharing of experience and discussion of ideas.
