Students will explore women’s health issues from an international perspective in relation to midwifery and nursing practice.  The international focus aims to increase the breadth and depth of knowledge of women’s health care provision in other countries.  It will also seek to prepare students for change within a global context and the increasing multicultural contexts of service delivery in Ireland. The module will explore the delivery of health care to women from a global perspective, the effect of poverty and conflict on women’s health, health promotion and education strategies in relation to women’s health and how cultural and religious practices affect women’s health.
