The aim of this module is to enable participants to effectively care for and meet the needs of patients who have sustained injuries as a result of trauma. The principles and practice of trauma nursing shall be adhered to according to International best practice and Evidence Based Guidelines. The module shall also address the more common Neurological, Gastrointestinal, Renal and Genitourinary emergencies that can present to an Emergency Departments.
There are five units in this module:
Unit 1: Multiple trauma
Unit 2: Thoracic and abdominal trauma
Unit 3: Musculoskeletal injuries, spinal trauma
Unit 4: Head trauma, neurological emergencies - assessment and management in the emergency department
Unit 5: Gastrointestinal, renal and genitourinary emergencies in the emergency department
