About
The Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology has its main objectives as follows:
- To plan, organize, carry out and audit clinical practice in Obstetrics & Gynaecology and its various sub-specialty areas within University College Hospital Galway and the Western Health Board Regional Hospitals.
- To undertake research relevant to Obstetrics & Gynaecology at a clinical and scientific level.
- To provide undergraduate education for the 4MB teaching programme at National University of Ireland, Galway.
- To provide postgraduate education for doctors in Obstetrics & Gynaecology.
- To provide formal teaching in the Master of Medical Science course and in preparation for MD theses within the Department.
- To provide formal teaching on various other courses including Midwifery Diploma and undergraduate science courses
