Welcome to the open learning centre at nui galway
The Open
Learning Centre is a unit of Adult & Continuing Education at NUI Galway.
The Centre offers part-time, distance learning courses aimed at people who are
working, or are interested in working as trainers, instructors or educators. We
offer well designed and structured courses presented by helpful and supportive staff. The programme structure allows students to study at a time and pace that
suits their circumstances.
The Open
Learning Centre courses are suitable to mature applicants from backgrounds such
as:
- Vocational
trainers;
- FÁS
instructors or people wishing to pursue a career as a trainer in FÁS;
- Educational
consultants;
- Human
resource specialists;
- Those
practising or planning a career as trainers in the educational, industrial, commercial, voluntary and community sectors.
Over the past number of years, students who have attended
the programme have come from a wide range of areas including; Defence Forces,
FÁS,Gardaí,Customer Service, Childcare, Hairdressers, Carpenters, Security Specialists, Driving Instructors, Training Specialists, VECs, ITs, Outdoor
Pursuits, Writers and Artists.
