Environment, Marine, and Energy
This research area covers environmental change and modelling, atmospheric studies, biodiversity and bioinformatics, marine science and law, and sustainable energy. Together, these areas have a direct bearing on the Government's Strategy for Science, Technology and Innovation 2006 and the National Development Plan 2007-2013. Our researchers work with industry, government and each other to assess the harmful environmental impacts associated with global and regional climate change. Research efforts towards enhanced energy efficiencies and conservation methods, renewable energy sources, and new advanced environmental technologies help address the dilemma between balanced economic growth and environmental impact.
