Ms Patricia Martyn B.Comm, Dip, A.C.M.A.
| Patricia holds a B. Comm and a Postgraduate Diploma in Systems Analysis from NUI
Galway. She worked in a variety of roles in the Information Technology sector
before deciding to train as a Chartered Management Accountant. Patricia
completed her professional accountancy training with Shannon Development.
Following that she worked as a Teaching Assistant in the Kemmy School of
Business in the University of Limerick. Patricia is currently pursuing her PhD in the area of Management Control Systems.
|Patricia’s research interests are in the area of management control systems and innovation. She is currently undertaking a PhD which examines the role of management control systems in managing the dual objectives of efficiency and creative innovation at middle management level.|

Patricia's teaching interests are:
Patricia has a particular interest in teaching accounting through blended learning. She has been involved in the design and delivery of two blended learning modules for the part-time B. Comm. In 2008 she was nominated for the President's Award in Teaching Excellence by a group of students taking a management accounting module through blended learning. Patricia is a member of the Bachelor of Commerce (fullvtime) and the Bachelor of Commerce (part time via blended learning) programme boards.
