Biography:

With both a science and legal background it seemed a natural progression to conduct interdisciplinary research. Patent law and biotechnological inventions, in particular, moral aspects thereof, seemed an obvious choice. The idea is to ‘marry’ scientific and legal research in an effort to elucidate the moral concerns associated with biotech so that the general public may better understand the issues involved.

The educational and professional history of the researcher has always reflected societal concerns.  Arguably, no where is this more important than in biotechnology which is at the cutting edge of scientific research and innovation. Contribution to knowledge is vital as only society can decide the degree of importance to be attached to the benefits, hazards and impact of biotechnology.

Research Interests

The patenting of biotechnological moral and inventions, exemptions and exceptions thereto on moral, and other, grounds.
