Biography:

Dr. Marie Coggins is currently employed as a Lecturer in Occupational Hygiene and Chemical Safety at NUI Galway and she also works as a researcher with the Air Quality Technology Centre. Her research interests include measurement of environmental and occupational hazards..Previous to her employment at NUI, Dr Coggins worked as an Occupational Hygienist at Eli Lilly, S.A. Irish branch. She has been involved in the development and delivery of chemical risk assessment training courses with the Health and Safety unit of IBEC, Irish Chemical and Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Federation, National Irish Safety Organization and Occupational Hygiene Society of Ireland (OHSI). She is a member and registered Occupational Hygienist with the British Occupational Hygiene Society, a member of the International Occupational Hygiene Society. She is currently the Treasurer of the OHSI and a member of the OHSI conference steering committee for the past five years, this annual conference attracts over 100 professionals working in the area of occupational hygiene, health and medicine. She is also a member of the Atmospheric and Environmental Research Cluster in the Department of Experimental Physics at NUI, Galway. Identifiable structures within this cluster are the Mace Head Atmospheric Research Station, which is a global atmospheric research station of acknowledged international standing, and the Air Quality Technology Centre (AQTC), where she plays a key role providing environmental and occupational consultancy and research services to industry,. The AQTC also participates in urban air quality research
