Dr. Sharon Flynn

She has a background in Computing Science, with a BSc (Maths and Computer Science) and a MSc (Computer Science) from University College Dublin. She was awarded a PhD in Computing Science in 1997 from Glasgow University.
Having spent 11 years as a lecturer in the Information Technology Department at NUIG, Sharon took up the position of Assistant Director in CELT in 2006.
She has a particular interest in technologies for teaching and learning, and leads the Learning Technologies team within CELT. Another interest is that of Academic Integrity; she is chair of the University's Plagiarism Committee.
Sharon can be found on twitter (@sharonlflynn) and she also blogs regularly at learntechgalway.
I also carry out research in the area of Academic Integrity and Student Plagiarism.

I oversee the running of technology workshops around the use of technologies in teaching and learning, in particular related to the use of the Virtual Learning Environment on campus.
