[English below] Bronnadh céim le comhchéad onóracha ar An Dr Jeannine Woods sa Nua-Ghaeilge agus san Antraipeolaíocht Chultúrtha in Ollscoil na hÉireann, Má Nuad.  Bhain sí MA sa Chultúr agus Coilíneachas amach ó OÉ, Gaillimh i 1999, áit ar chríochnaigh sí dochtúireacht ar an gcoilíneachas, an t-iarchoilíneachas agus scannánaíocht na hÉireann agus na hIndia faoi stiúir An tOll. Sean Ryder. Tá sí ag teagasc agus ag léachtóireacht in OÉ, Gaillimh ó 2005.  Tá comhaltachtaí agus scoláireachtaí bronnta ar Jeannine ag Institiúid Teangeolaíochta Éireann, ag OÉG agus ag Comhairle Taighde na hÉireann. Is í údar Visions of Empire and other Imaginings: Cinema, Ireland and India 1910-1962 (Peter Lang, 2011) í, ar gearrliostaíodh é le haghaidh duais ESSE i léann an chultúir sa Bhéarla i 2012. Tá ailt foilsithe agus páipéir chomhdhála curtha i láthair aici ar chúrsaí scannánaíochta agus ar chúrsaí inscne agus gnéasúlachta i gcomhthéacs chultúr coiteann na hÉireann agus cultúir idirnáisiúnta. I measc a réimsí teagaisc agus taighde tá cúrsaí teanga, idé-eolaíochta, forléargais agus féiniúlachta. Tá suim ar leith aici i léann an iarchoilíneachais, léann na scannánaíochta, cúrsaí inscne agus gnéasúlachta agus léann an taibhléirithe i gcomhthéacs chultúir agus litríochtaí na Gaeilge, na hÉireann agus idirnáisiúnta. Is í Jeannine stiúrthóir an chláir MA sa Nua-Ghaeilge agus bíonn sí ag teagasc ag leibhéal fochéime agus iarchéime ar réimsí éagsúla, ina n-áirítear scríbhneoireacht agus láithreoireacht acadúil sa Ghaeilge, an dírbheathaisnéis Ghaeilge, léann na scannánaíochta agus léann na drámaíochta.

  Dr Jeannine Woods graduated from NUI Maynooth with a joint first-class honours degree in Modern Irish and Cultural Anthropology. She was awarded an MA in Culture and Colonialism by NUI Galway, where she subsequently completed a doctorate on colonialism, postcolonialism and Irish and Indian cinema under the supervision of Prof. Sean Ryder. She has been teaching and lecturing in NUI Galway since 2005. Jeannine has been awarded scholarships and fellowships by the Linguistic Institute of Ireland, by NUI Galway and by the Irish Research Council. She is the author of Visions of Empire and other Imaginings: Cinema, Ireland and India 1910-1962 (Peter Lang, 2011) which was shortlisted for an ESSE award for cultural studies in English in 2012. She has published articles and presented conference papers on cinema and on various aspects of gender and sexuality in Irish and international popular culture. Her teaching and research interests encompass the areas of language, ideology, representation and identity. She has particular interest in postcolonial studies, film studies, gender and sexuality and performance studies in the context of Irish-language, Irish and international literatures and cultures. Jeannine is the director of the MA programme in Nua-Ghaeilge and teaches a range of courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including Irish-language academic writing and presentation, Irish-language autobiography, film studies and drama studies.
