Biography

Dr Reddington is a lecturer on the Microbiology pathway in the School of Biological and Chemical Sciences at University of Galway. Her research focuses on the development of innovative solutions for infectious disease diagnostics and public health microbiology. Of particular interest to her research group is the application of whole genome sequencing in clinical microbiology, both from human and healthcare environmental reservoir samples.

Dr Reddington was a member of the National Coronavirus Sequencing Consortium and was a member of the HSE COVID19 Laboratory R&D Product Solutions Group. 

Dr Reddington is also the chair of Research and Innovation for the School of Biological and Chemical Sciences.
