Biography:
Anne joined the school of law in November 2010 as a lecturer in clinical legal education. She was a lecturer in law at the University of Limerick, from 1991 to 2002, where she taught constitutional law, gender and the law, and public international law. In 1997 she received the Excellence in Teaching medal from U.L. Anne has worked in the area of human rights with both international and non-governmental organisations. Her principal interest in recent years has been in election observation, serving in countries which included East Timor, Nigeria, Rwanda and Malawi. In 2010 she was the election expert in Southern Sudan with the European Union Election Observation Mission. She has also worked extensively in the area of refugee protection, including service with the UN High Commission for Refugees in Zimbabwe and Sudan. In Ireland Anne has worked with the Irish Section of Amnesty International, as chief executive of Doras Luimni and as head of advocacy with Concern. |
