Biography

Dr. Aoife Jackson graduated from NUI, Galway in 2006 and completed postgraduate speciality training in general practice on the Western Training Programme in General Practice in 2013. 

During the final year of her higher training she undertook the Academic Module in General Practice in conjunction with the Discipline of General Practice at NUIG and developed a keen interest in clinical education. She was involved in the development and delivery of sessions at both undergraduate and postgraduate level in the School of Medicine at NUIG, including 1MB SSM in Community CPR Teaching, 4MB General Practice module, and Women’s Health module of Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Primary Care. Aoife has also delivered and facilitated sessions for trainees on the Western and Ballinasloe Training Programmes in General Practice.

In September 2013, Aoife was appointed as the lecturer in general practice at the NUIG/UL medical school academy in Ballinasloe. She is involved in the day-to-day delivery of the 4MB undergraduate curriculum in general practice to students studying at the academy. She also participates in medical student education through her clinical roles.
