Biography:
|
Marian Kane received
her PhD in Biochemistry from NUI Galway in 1984. Since then, she has held positions in Dublin
City University and in the National Diagnostics Centre (NDC) at NUI Galway, an Applied Research Centre jointly-funded by
the University and the Irish Government. She was Team Leader of the ImmunoDiagnostics
Group at the NDC for over 15 years and later Centre Manager.
The primary goal of the NDC was
the promotion of commercially relevant research in Ireland and as a result
there was always a strong commercial focus in her research. She is currently Programme Manager of the
Alimentary Glycoscience Research Cluster (AGRC) and Senior Research Fellow in
the Glycoscience Group at the NCBES, NUI Galway and is also Adjunct Lecturer in
the NCBES. |
