Closing dates and offer round dates
for programmes at NUI Galway (for entry 2013)

PAC , the online application system will open on 1 November 2012 to accept applications For Entry September 2013.

Offer dates (for taught programmes)

For most programmes, NUI Galway does not set specific closing dates for receipt of applications, (*with some exceptions however listed below). We will endeavour to provide you with a decision in relation to your taught programme application as quickly as possible, via our system of offer rounds that facilitate decision making and early notification to applicants throughout the year. You are encouraged to apply as early as possible. Candidates who do not have their final degree marks available may be made a conditional (provisional) offer.

Offer Round dates for taught programmes are as follows: (*see below for Course exceptions). 

Applications will continue to be reviewed in the summer months if there are still programme places available. If programmes become filled in early rounds (as early offers are accepted) they will not accept new applications and these programmes will then be closed on PAC. You are therefore encouraged to apply early. 

*Exceptions

A small number of programmes have specific deadlines for receipt of applications and these are listed below: (Please note: some programmes may re-open after a given deadline if vacancies arise. Please check this website for updates).

Research programme deadlines

Research applications are generally accepted at any time. However the following exceptions should be noted:

Applications for the Traditional PhD in the College of Arts, Social Sciences and Celtic Studies are considered for students commencing their research in September and January only. Online applications must therefore be received before mid-July and mid-November, respectively.

Structured PhD applications in the College of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences are considered for students commencing their programmes in September and January. Further information on the Structured PhD in this College can be found at http://www.nuigalway.ie/colleges/mnhs/research.html

You should allow at least four weeks, from the date we receive your application, to when you can expect to receive notification of whether you have been offered a place on a research programme.
