The University’s Placement Office networks with business and industry across Ireland, and abroad, to facilitate postgraduate students participating in the
Graduate Experience Programme
(GEP).
GEP is offered in the following postgraduate courses of study: Master of Business Studies in Electronic Commerce, Master of Information Technology, Diploma in Quality Assurance, Higher Diploma in Microbiology, Higher Diploma in Analytical Biochemistry & Chemistry. GEP is undertaken either during or following your studies. GEP gives you an opportunity to avail of a period of work experience relevant to your programme of study.
GEP will give you a practical appreciation and understanding of the needs and modus operandi of business and industry where your skills and qualifications may be applied. GEP will improve significantly your prospect of obtaining employment after graduation.
The Placement Office will assist you in facilitating your period of graduate experience:
- assistance in C.V. completion
- interview techniques
- contacting businesses and industry on your behalf, with a view to secure work experience
- forward your C.V. to interested companies
- provide feedback on your performance at interviews
- monitor your progress during your GEP.
The mission of the University’s Placement Office is to support you, in co-operation with the staff of participating departments, in securing a quality external placement. In the event that no external placement is available, postgraduate students will be given projects on campus by their department.
