Information on online offers (Taught programmes)

Congratulations, you have been made an offer to a postgraduate programme at NUI Galway, via the Postgraduate Applications Centre (PAC) online application system. If you intend to accept this offer please read the information below.

Your Postgraduate Offer Pack is available to download here—this will provide you with all you need to know about accepting your offer and joining us as a postgraduate student.

Accepting an offer

Please confirm acceptance/non-acceptance of the offer via the PAC online system by clicking ACCEPT or DECLINE in the relevant section.

Please accept the Terms and Conditions. (When you are presented with an online offer in PAC, you are also presented with the Terms & Conditions that are associated with that offer. ( You can view these T&C here)

Secure your programme place by paying online the non-refundable deposit of €500 or €1,000* within 10 days of offer date. (If you are funded by a grant authority or other funding body, you are still required to pay the deposit to accept and secure your place.)

*Note: only the programmes listed below require a €1,000 non-refundable deposit.

If NUI Galway does not receive this deposit within 10 days of offer-date your offer may become null and void.

Non-refundable deposit

The €500 or €1,000 (as relevant) deposit will be credited to your fees on registering as a student and is non-refundable in the event of withdrawal or cancellation. It is however transferable should you be subsequently offered and accept a place on another postgraduate programme at NUI Galway for the Academic Session 2016–2017 (with the exception of the Professional Masters in Education/MGO).

If you are funded by a grant authority or other funding body, you are still required to pay the deposit to accept and secure your place. Once the Fees Office at NUI Galway receive your funds from your funding authority, they will organise to reimburse you any overpayment in your student account.

Conditional offers—in the event that you do not meet the specific conditions pertaining to your offer, your deposit will be refunded to you in this instance.

Photograph required (For NUIG I.D. card)

Non-NUI Galway students and NUIG students who attended pre-2001 must also submit a passport-type photograph, as this is required for your I.D. card. If you haven’t already uploaded a photo electronically as part of the PAC application process, please do so now. You can do this within PAC by logging into your PAC account, and going to the My Account section, and then selecting 'Upload Profile Photograph' option. See screenshot below:

Statements, e.g., letters confirming offer/attendance

For applicants needing proof of acceptance for Grant Authority/funding purposes you can print the receipt/acceptance statement directly from within your PAC account (once you have accepted your offer and paid the deposit).
