Teaching quality

NUI Galway strives to constantly improve the quality of its teaching, and to that end has set up the Centre for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CELT).

The Centre’s aims are to:

• Develop the professional skills of academic staff in teaching and learning;
• Support and encourage the appropriate use of learning technologies;
• Provide, maintain and develop audio-visual resources across campus;
• Encourage research & scholarly activity in university level teaching and learning;
• Advise and consult on issues related to teaching and learning;
• Encouraging the development of a student-centred approach;
• Support initiatives and innovation in approaches to teaching and learning.
