Electroplated magnetic materials for shielding in PCB
Dr. Maeve Duffy
The performance of different electroplated magnetic materials in electromagnetic shielding is being investigated for planar windings formed on printed circuit board (PCB). Results to date indicate that the materials can provide similar levels of shielding effectiveness as high frequency ferrite materials that are currently applied. Work is ongoing to develop and optimse the electroplating processes.
Start date: 1st of September 2009. This project has been completed.
