Dr. Maeve Duffy graduated from NUI Galway with a B.E. in Electronic Engineering in 1992, and with a PhD in 1997. The title of her PhD thesis was Modelling and Analysis of Planar Magnetic Devices. From 1997 - 2001, she was employed as a research officer with PEI Technologies in NMRC, Cork where she was involved in the design of magnetic components for fabrication in different interconnect technologies, including PCB, thick film and thin film on silicon. Since then, she has been lecturing in the Electrical & Electronic Engineering in NUI Galway. She currently has four postgraduate students working in the areas of magnetic component design for VRM applications and electromagnetic generator design for power harvesting. She has spoken at several industry seminars on the topics of magnetic component design and magnetic sensors.
