Supplier Lists - How to apply
First, what is NUI Galway looking for in a supplier? The answer is all of the following and more:
- Value for Money.
- Up-to-date Systems.
- Flexibility.
- Responsiveness.
- Quality.
- Excel in performance.
- Service levels including delivery schedule.
- Forward thinking.
All of the following information is required, when applying to be included on a supplier list:
- If you are applying for one of the contracts currently under review your correspondence should have the contract name and title number included.
If it is not, then you must give a clear description of the category of goods/services/works that you wish to be considered for.
- A brief company profile that includes an organisational chart
- Turnover details for the last three years
- Where available, details of your Tax Clearance / Certificate of Suitability
- Details of membership to professional bodies
- Key customers/clients with contact names and phone numbers
- Key clients in the education sector with contact names and phone numbers
- Details of Quality Programmes that are in place
- Details of your IT systems
Small Contracts Scheme
The Small Contracts Scheme is a database operated by the Achilles Group for a number of Public Sector Awarding Authorities who subscribe to the system, including NUI Galway. It is used by the University to source suppliers for contracts below the EU thresholds.
Upon registration, suppliers are asked to complete an on-line questionnaire, which is their permanent expression of interest for the Public Sector Awarding Authorities using the system. Since Public Sector Awarding Authorities are not obliged to advertise when using the system, suppliers subscriptions allow them to be visible to Public Sector Awarding Authorities at all times through codes provided information is complete and up-to-date.
