The title of the research is "A comparison of methodologies for the assessment of implicit cognition: Comparing the IRAP with the IAT in the assessment of negative attitudes towards overweight individuals." This work is funded by a Government of Ireland Scholarship from the Irish Research Council for the Humanities and Social Sciences (IRCHSS) and is supervised by Dr. Ian Stewart.
TAKE PART IN MY RESEARCH HEREMy research is investigating attitudes towards overweight individuals. I'm using two measures of "implicit" attitudes, the Implicit Relational Assessment Procedure (IRAP; Barnes-Holmes et al., 2006) and the Implicit Association Test (IAT; Greenwald et al., 1998) and one measure of explicit attitudes - Crandall’s Anti-Fat Attitudes Scale (1994).
If you'd like to take part in the current study, please read the INSTRUCTIONS form below. This will provide details on how to access the two implicit tasks (IRAP and IAT). You can complete these tasks in whichever order you wish - however, please keep a record of the order in which you have completed tasks and send this information in the email with your data. Finally, we would like you to provide some demographic information and complete the questionnaire. You can be assured that all data received will remain confidential and will be coded to ensure personal anonymity.
If you are interested in the research and could take the time to complete the study we would really appreciate it. Everyone who sends me a completed data file (please send to Sarah Roddy) will be entered into a draw for a E50 One-For-All Voucher. If you'd like further details about my study or have any queries about participating, please contact me at the above email address. Thank you.
