PhD in Child and Youth Research
The PhD in Child and Youth Research is a four year, full-time, structured, cross-institutional PhD delivered as part of a collaboration between NUI Galway and Trinity College Dublin.
In years one and two, students will take taught courses in the areas of Child and Youth Services, Legal and Policy Issues, Developmental Psychology and Research Pragmatics. These modules will provide course participants with the opportunity to widen their knowledge and skill base as well as feeding into the development of their core thesis work. In years three and four, students will concentrate on the preparation of a substantial dissertation, which they will have begun in year one.
This PhD programme will provide excellent training for scholars in core research skills, childhood and youth research, and practice and policy-relevant research.
