Taught M.Sc in Regenerative Medicine

In 2007 NUI Galway launched a 1-year taught M.Sc. in Regenerative Medicine, one of the first of its kind worldwide. The course is coordinated and partially taught by members of REMEDI.

Course Outline   

This course accepts between 15-18 students each year and has already established itself as one of the most sought-after postgraduate taught M.Sc. courses at NUI Galway.

This programme will equip students with the skills required to make meaningful contributions to this discipline. Modules will address the science behind Regenerative Medicine, its application to human disease and its importance to modern society. Students conduct a summer-long independent research project. Previous completed projects have taken place within REMEDI, NUI Galway, Galway University Hospital, Athlone Institute of Technology, NUI Maynooth and Royal College of Surgeons Ireland.

Graduates from the M.Sc. in Regenerative Medicine are now working in R&D in biotechnology and biomedical device companies in Ireland and abroad; engaged in Ph.D. studentships in Ireland, England, Wales, Austria, Spain and Canada; enrolled in graduate entry medicine; or are practicing their medical specialties. In summary these graduates are involved in making meaningful contributions to this exciting and promising new discipline.
