Congratulations to REMEDI PhD students Niamh Fahy and Nahidul Islam who both won awards this week.
Niamh, who is currently on placement in the laboratory of Dr Eric Farrell in the Erasmus Medical Centre in the Netherlands, won the Dutch Society for Matrix Biology (NVMB) "Pauline Van Wachem" Prize for Best Oral Presentation. Niamh is supervised by Dr Mary Murphy at REMEDI. Nahidul also won the prize for Best Oral Presentation at the recent College of Medicine, Nursing and Health Science Research Day. Nahidul is co-supervised by Professor Rhodri Ceredig and Dr Ben Bradley of Institute of Technology, Tralee.
The Minister for Skills, Research and Innovation, Mr Damien English T.D., and Professor Orla Feely, Chairperson of the Irish Research Council, recently presented REMEDI researcher Dr Aideen Ryan with an award in recognition of her selection and participation in the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings.
