Informing Society about Stem Cell Research

Danielle Nicholson, Outreach Officer of the Regenerative Medicine Institute (REMEDI), will be among those giving a presentation at a conference titled ‘An Informed Society- How to Participate in public science education and why it matters’ organized by the Canada Stem Cell Network in Toronto, Canada on 15th June 2011.

This satellite symposium is part of the International Society of Stem Cell Research (ISSCR) 9th Annual Meeting which is co-sponsored by the McEwen Centre for Regenerative Medicine.

The ISSCR Annual Meeting will be a gathering that brings together a group of information and stem cell experts from leading stem cell research centres from around the world. The satellite symposium explores the growing importance of educating and informing the public about science and includes discussion of novel stem cell science education and communication programmes from around the world.  Danielle will be presenting on the EuroStemCell project, of which REMEDI is a partner institution.  As well as REMEDI, the conference also includes presentations from leading stem cell research centres from the USA, Australia and Japan.
