Ulster Team Takes Top Prize at All-Ireland Debating Science Issues 2010 Final

The 2010 Debating Science Issues All-Ireland Final occurred on April 15 at the Science Gallery at Trinity College Dublin. The four provinces of Ireland were represented by Our Lady & St. Patrick's College, Belfast, Co. Antrim, St. Attracta's Community School, Tubbercurry, Co. Sligo, Clonakilty Community School, Co. Cork, and St. Mary's College, Rathmines, Co. Dublin.

Professor Tim O'Brien recently became Co-Editor-in-Chief of the on-line, open access journal Stem Cell Research & Therapy. Additionally, O'Brien joined the Editorial Board of Human Gene Therapy.

€ 7.5million funding for new Clinical Research Facility

The Minister for Health & Children, Mary Harney TD has just recently announced that € 7.5m in capital funding is being provided for the construction of a new Clinical Research Facility . The Health Research Board (HRB) Clinical Research Facility Galway on the grounds of University Hospital Galway is a joint venture between Galway University Hospitals and NUI Galway.
