Vascular stem cell biology, atherosclerosis and vascular remodelling with emphasis on translation of ideas to the clinical cardiology arena in areas of novel diagnostics and therapeutics in the field of stem cells, gene delivery and tissue engineering.

Regenerative approaches towards reducing the amount of heart muscle lost after myocardial infarction and so lowering the risk of heart failure, including studies on different types of stem cell therapies, the timing of administered therapies and doses, and the development of medical devices.
