Check what overheads are allowed by the funding agency and include these in your budget.
If you choose to use the budget template to work out your budget PLEASE check calculations manually also.

Submitting your proposal (internal procedure) |
Proposal Submission Form
- This internal form must be completed for all research proposal submissions.

Please email to the relevant Research Support Officer in the Research Office. |

Submitting your proposal (official sign-off for funding agency) |
Check the application form for required signatures (Authorised Institutional Signature) |
This signature will normally be Prof. Terry Smith, Vice-President for Research. Please arrange for signature at least 3 working days in advance with the relevant Research Support Officer. |
Congratulations - you got the funding. Now you need to set up your project. IMPORTANT: The contract with the funder must be signed off by TTO

Sign off of this will occur once they have sight of the letter of offer and approved budget (contact Ann Byrne in Technology Transfer Office -
technologytransfer nuigalway.ie The form should then go to the Research Accounts Office who will set up your project account. |

Getting your post-graduate students registered for a degree |
Don't forget that students will need to register for a post-graduate degree.

The Postgraduate Admissions Office will advise you on the procedure in your faculty. |

Employing Research Funded Staff |
It is the policy of the University to advertise research posts with some allowed exceptions. The HR office issues the formal offer of employment for all posts.
