What is IRIS?
IRIS ( Institutional Research Information System) will enable researchers and academic staff to easily maintain an up-to-date CV and showcase their research expertise.
Some features of the system include:
• Pre-filled profile for all academics
• Automatic updates from Web of Science, PubMed etc
• Automatic updates from University systems including HR, Student Registration, Financial
• Seamless integration with the University’s institutional open access repository
• Feeds for staff profiles on websites - http://www.nuigalway.ie/our-research/people/
• Multiple options for downloading information for your own use

IRIS News
• IRIS now live on the web. IRIS now has a live feed on the Research Office website http://www.nuigalway.ie/our-research/people/ and can be viewed externally which highlights your expertise, publication s etc.
• Community Engagement - IRIS has been upgraded to include a new Community Engagment section under the Professional tab. This section holds information on Advocacy, Board Membership (Boards of Community Based Org, NGO), Consultancy (Pro-bono), Outreach, Policy Development, Research (e.g. Community based research) and Teaching (e.g. Service learning / comunity based learning)
• Patents - IRIS is now integrated with Inteum (Technology Transfer Office patents database) which will feeds data directly into IRIS
• Reports - A large number of reports are already live in the system and we are currently working on creating a number of custom reports. Please contact noreen.gogginnuigalway.ie if you require any custom reports.
