Biography

Dr. Brian Mc Ginley received the B.Eng. (with Hons.) degree in electronic and computer engineering, and the Ph.D. degree from National University of Ireland (NUI), Galway, Ireland, in 2003 and 2009, respectively. His Ph.D. research investigated spiking neural networks and genetic algorithm parameter adaptation.

Since 2008, he is working with NUI Galway, as an Adjunct Lecturer and Post-Doctoral Researcher. His current research interests include heuristic algorithms, machine learning, biomedical imaging, machine vision, embedded systems, reconfigurable hardware, and digital signal processing applications.
